Dr Aman Ulhaq

Dr Aman Ulhaq

ORTHODONTIC SPECIALIST

Dr Aman Ulhaq is the Practice Principal and Specialist Orthodontist at Vermilion Orthodontics. He enjoys treating adolescent and adult orthodontic patients using aligners and aesthetic braces, and promotes the use of new digital technologies to make the patient’s journey as convenient as possible.

Dr Ulhaq is also the Lead Consultant Orthodontist at the Edinburgh Dental Institute, and is involved in the clinical treatment of complex cases, research, and training of postgraduate orthodontic students. He is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and has presented on orthodontic subjects both nationally and internationally.

 

 

Dr Graeme Wright

Specialist in Paediatric Dentistry

At Vermilion Orthodontics, Dr Graeme Wright offers a wide range of paediatric dental services, often facilitated by conscious sedation for nervous or anxious children. Dr Wright is highly experienced in managing and treating the wide range of dental and oral conditions that present in children and young people with his gentle and fun manner.

Trauma to kids’ teeth is common at sports and play and Dr Wright offers patients and referring general dental practitioners peace of mind that such trauma will be managed in accordance with the latest guidelines.

Dr Graeme Wright is Lead Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry at Edinburgh Dental Institute and the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People. His clinical interests are in the management of medically compromised patients, paediatric dental trauma and the restorative management of dental anomalies.

 

 

Dr Helen Forbes

Helen Forbes is a registered dental nurse who has worked at our sister company, Vermilion – The Smile Experts, for three years. Prior to dental nursing, Helen was a qualified beauty therapist who worked in 5-star spas for many years. After deciding to make a career change to be a dental nurse, she qualified in 2016 from Edinburgh College.

During her time at Vermilion, she has worked with many of the clinicians, in all the aspects of dentistry to build up her knowledge and understanding. Helen completed her sedation qualification in 2019.

Helen is the link between patients and the Vermilion Orthodontics clinicians; there to ensure the patient feels supported and clear about every stage of their treatment journey.

Rhona Wilson

Rhona Wilson is the Vermilion Orthodontics Dental Nurse. You will see her assisting both Dr Ulhaq and Dr Wright with the delivery of orthodontics and paediatric treatments.

Rhona has worked in all aspects of dentistry, starting as a decontamination technician and receptionist before working her way up to a registered dental nurse.

Rhona qualified as a dental nurse in 2015 from Glasgow Mentor Training Centre. Rhona's calm and friendly manner puts all her patients at ease, and makes their treatment journey with us a pleasant and memorable one.

Alex Hogarth

Alex Hogarth works in our Kelso clinic as a dental nurse for both Vermilion Orthodontics and Vermilion – The Smile Experts. You will see her assisting Dr Ulhaq with the delivery of orthodontics.

Alex joined the company in 2018 and was Vermilion Kelso’s first member of staff. After a few years as a receptionist within the company, Alex felt she needed a new challenge and qualified as a dental nurse in 2021 from Glasgow’s Mentor Training Centre.

As a newly qualified dental nurse Alex is looking forward to seeing the results of patients currently going through their Orthodontic journeys at our Kelso Clinic.

Mrs Margaret Davie

Orthodontic Therapist

Mrs Davie has over 30 years' experience as a DCP in both hospital and practice-based settings. She initially qualified as a Hygienist in Edinburgh and later broadened her interest in Orthodontics by graduating with a Diploma in Orthodontic Therapy (RCSEd). Working as part of a large orthodontic team in Edinburgh Dental Institute has allowed her to be involved in managing many multi-disciplinary cases. Margaret completed her Master's Degree in Clinical Education (Edin) and gained membership as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

In addition to clinical duties Margaret is actively involved in DCP education and is responsible for the Orthodontic Therapy Training Programme delivered by NHS Education for Scotland (NES) and examines for Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Margaret’s primary focus is to ensure every patient receives high quality personalised care throughout their orthodontic journey at Vermilion Orthodontics.
